Summer is beautiful the mountains, the bay its breath taking. The winter mild we don't get as much snow as other more northern places in Alaska.
Military facilities~
None, you have to drive to Anchorge which is about 4 hrs away.
Medical~
If you are into Natural Medicine you are in luck. If not there is a wonderful hospital and 2 smaller clinics
Housing~
Housing is available. Would recommend renting.
Shopping~
Catalogs and online are a must. Pay close attention to shipping costs.
Adult Schools~
They have a branch of the University of Alaska.
Fun Activities~
There is a lot to do. All you have to do is pay attention to the newspapers.
Additional Info~
If you enjoying living in "fish bowl" i would recommed living here. Also with all the advances in modern technology (email from the boat, even when underway).
