Station/Boat Location~
Station Ketchikan

Date there~
May 2001-sometime in 2004

Weather~
It varies any where between high 20's in the winter and 70's in the summer. This summer we actually hit in the 80's a few times. It is VERY RARE but when it does happen it is AWESOME!! Snow is also rare, but when it happens IT HAPPENS! Last winter we had a hand full of snow falls and it put 2 feet on the ground in a matter of a few hours! Other than that, it rains, rains, rains... 14 feet average a year...some years less than others, but all the same if it isn't measured in inches then it is A LOT of rain !!

Medical~
Clinic or else you can go outside to Ketchikan Medical.

You find your own home! They had Gov Leases, but got rid of them.

Shopping~
The Plaza has a Hallmark, Radio Shack, Athlete's foot (but it is closing soon) Hair Salons, Furniture Store called BERNIES, and Waldon books. There are a bunch of local tourist shops downtown that are always fun to check out in the months of May-September.

Fun Activities~
We have a Rec Center that offers everything under the sun! There are a bunch of beaches that if you go to at low tide, you can explore for hours (well until the tide comes back in) There is hiking on trails (but be prepared to hike for the WHOLE day). We have float plane tours, small cruises, and if you have a boat, then you can explore all kinds of little islands around Ketchikan. Ketchikan and the area is a beauty!
