Weather~
We just got here in Nov so the only thing we have experienced so far is the rain. When it is not raining it is very beautiful here outside. Fog rolls in nightly.

Military/Medical facilities~
We are on Tricare Remote, you can use the medical clinic at the group in McKinleyville.

Housing~
Housing is decent. They are trying to remodel 8 houses a yr. There is single level and two story duplex style. Single level has a one car garage, and extra storage shed attached. Fenced back yards with privacy fencing in most and decent size back yards.

Shopping~
There is a mall here Bayshore which has about 96 stores containing, Meryvns, Sears, Gottschalks, Old Navy, Gap, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works and several others.
There is a Kmart here and then a nicer one in Mckinleyville. There are little quaint stores in Ferndale and Old Towne Eureka. We have a Micheals, Joanns Fabrics.There are 2 movie theaters in Eureka, one in Fortuna.

Fun Activities~
Elk watching, going to the beach, You can take a tour throughout the Trees of Mystery in Del Norte County Several Vineyards south of us.

Child Care/Schools~
Ferndale Elementary it is a K-8 school and then there is a high school.

Adult Schools~
College of the Redwoods, Eureka Adult School

Additional Info~
We love living in Ferndale, very quiet and just a neat little town. You will see plenty of cows and quite a few deer.
There are several place to see light houses, fishing, camping. The things to do here are really endless, lots of out doors stuff to do.
