Station/Boat Location~
Sector San Diego

Date there~
November 2007 to April 2008

Weather~
Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!! Lets just say we were able to take the kids to the beach on Christmas Day- and play in the water!! The coldest it got in the winter was about 45 degrees and the hotest it gets is about 85 degrees. Dry heat, no humidity, and it only rains every once in a while.

Military facilities~
USCG Sector San Diego, 32nd St. Naval Base, North Island Amphibious Base (Navy - Coronado Island), Miramar (Marine), Camp Pendleton (Marine)

Medical~
Balboa Naval Medical Center, address: 34800 Bob Wilson Dr. San Diego, CA

Housing~
Lots and lots of housing! There are like 8+ neighborhoods. We lived in The Villages at Serra Mesa in La Mesa, which is about a 15 minute drive from Sector San Diego. It's a newer community, off-base. Our unit was 3 stories, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 car detached garage, back yard.

Shopping~
Tons of shopping!! Lets just say we were always broke. J If you like IKEA (which is my favorite store, ever) there is a huge one in San Diego, it was actually a 5 minute drive from where we live. It's right next to Qualcom Stadium. There are 4 different malls: Mission Valley Mall, Fashion Valley Mall, Westfield Plaza, Las Americas Premium Outlets, Walmarts and Targets galore!! I could go on and on... pretty much anything you can think of they have... if not LA is only a 3 hour drive north and they've got everything!!

Child Care/Schools~
My kids weren't school aged when we lived there. But I hear schools in Chula Vista are wonderful!

Adult Schools~
San Diego State University (was right down the street from where we lived), San Diego Mesa College, San Diego City College... basically there is a school in San Diego for everyone!

Fun Activities~
Sea World, Mission Beach/Boardwalk, Ocean Beach, Legoland, Coronado Island (Beautiful, it was our home away from home), San Diego Zoo, San Diego Padre's Games at Petco Park, the USS Midway (Aircraft carrier) Museum, Balvoa Park, San Diego Railroad Museum, Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego Aerospace Museum, Belmont Park, Little Italy, San Diego, Wild Animal Park, LaJolla Beach, Reuben H. Fleet Science Center… there are way more things to do but this is all I can think of right now.

If you go south (not even a half hour drive) you can go to Mexico. If you drive north Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure is only 2 hours away, LA is 3 hours north... Hollywood, is fun!!

Additional Info~
DEFINITELY the best place we have lived so far and would go back in a heartbeat. Enjoy your time there cause it goes by to fast.
