Weather~
July 2006... the weather is very off! Not what we are used to. Very hot and humid. Usually the weather is great! I would say beautiful! It get's cold at night in the winters. I would say perfect in the fall. You get the best of everything.

Military facilities~
There are tons of facilities around. Navy is huge here! **Naval Station San Diego **Naval Base Point Loma **Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook **Naval Amphibious Base Coronado ** Naval Air Station North Island **MCAS Miramar **Camp Pendleton **MCRD San Diego (Marines)

Medical~
There are a few choices here too. Balboa Naval Medical Hospital. Naval Medical Station San Diego. I would just go look in the Triwest.com website for MTF (military treatment facilities).

Housing~
There is also TONS of housing! This is Lincoln Military Housing. I live in one of their properties. It's actually right down the street from my old high school (where I met my husband!) We live in the southbay. It is beautiful! Not to far from anything! My husband works at the Naval Base off of 32nd street (right off the 5 freeway). So it's about a 10 or 15 minute drive. PM me to find out which housing I live in. I can also make some great suggestions if your looking to live in a certain part of San Diego.

Shopping~
Tons of shopping! There are malls everywhere. Close to me is Plaza Bonita. It has a variety of stores. They have remodeled it a lot in the past few years. They have a Pac Sun, Hollister, American Eagle, Victorias Secret, Vans store, Robinsons May, Anchor Blue.. and on and on. For way more gorgeous malls I would go either to downtown for Horton Plaza... which has an ice skating rink close by.. so to Mission Valley which has two great malls basically right next door to each other! You can also head out to the outlets in Temecula.. or to Viejas Casino.. They also have great outlets there too!

Child Care/Schools~
San Diego is a big area.. so of course there are tons of schools and child care. The schools will depend on where you live. Of course if you live in a bad area (yes San Diego has it's bad area... just like every other place!), then you might get a bad school. If you live by me then you have a few different choices of schools. There is Eastlake High, which is new and very nice!!! I think it is year around there. There is Bonita Vista High school and middle school right down the street. They are a bit older.. But still great teachers and area! I went to both. I loved them. And there is also Otay Ranch High School. That one is also very new.. and very nice!

Adult Schools~
There are tons of choices here too! From adults who still need to finish their high school diploma... Like the Chula Vista Adult School. They offer independent study or regular classes. They also offer GED classes.

Fun Activities~
Can you totally tell I LOVE San Diego!? There is tons of stuff to do here too! My favorite is Sea World! I can go there everyday! (And I have! LOL). They have fireworks everyday during the summer at 9:50 pm. There is also the Zoo and Wild Animal Park. There season pass has it so you get into both if you buy from either of the two. There is also amusement parks close by. Knott's Berry Farm, Knott's Soak City, Universal Studios, Disneyland (who also does fireworks everyday of the summer), and Six Flags. We also have tons of beautiful beaches! La Jolla, Mission Beach, Coronado, Imperial, ect...

Additional Info~
San Diego is great! Maybe I love it because it's home. But it really is great. Except.... it is expensive. I guess you can expect that from California. Here is a Salary Calculator. It compares your current location to a place you are thinking about moving. Very helpful!
