Military facilities~
Huge exchange down at Correy station in Pensacola, pools, grocery, NEX, on Whiting Field base
Medical~
Families are included in military medical facilities. DS's and I saw the family doc at Whiting Field clinic
Housing~
Coasties can live in Navy housing at Whiting Pines, just off Berryhill in Milton. Nice neighborhood full of mixed military branches. Most are affiliated with flight school either as instructors or students, but as of late they have been very empty so are allowing retired and civilian military employees to live there. Has a community pool/splash pad and playground, as well as minimart and 1.7 mile jogging trail along the parameter of the neighborhood.
Shopping~
Some shopping in and around Milton/Pace, with more in Pensacola, not a bad mall in Pensacola
Child Care/Schools~
My kids as other Whiting Pines kids went to Bennett C Russell Elementary school in Pace. They rode the bus which picked them up and dropped them off right in front of the house. The school was awesome! My kids' teachers there were some of the best they have ever had. I had a great experience there.
Adult Schools~
Pensacola Jr College and I believe some extension classes with the University of West Florida
Fun Activities~
The beach is probably the most popular activity there, understandably. Pensacola beaches are awesome!! National Museum of Naval Aviation is a very fun, free activity on Naval Air Station Pensacola. Pensacola is the homeplace for the Blue Angels so there were many opportunities to see them put on their world-class airshows. We also enjoyed the parades and such in downtown.

We weren't in Milton for long, but we enjoyed it overall.
