Station/Boat Location~
Station Venice

Date there~
2007-present

Weather~
Humid- We just got here this summer so all I can say is this last month has been hot hot hot.

Military facilities~
We live on a Naval Air Station and there is a Naval Support Activity 15 minutes away. The NSA has a nice size commissary, and exchange. The NAS has a gas station, pool, vet clinic, gym, and bowling alley. At some point they are going to move the commissary and exchange over here.

Medical~
We are seen as Prime on NSA( Algiers ) Its only about 15 minutes away. They will refer you off base as needed.

Housing~
We live on the Air Station. There is a huge amount of housing. The 2 bedroom units are mostly 4 plexes. And the 3 bedrooms are abundant. They range in sizes. They also have handicap units available. They are all townhouse style units, except for the handicap.

Shopping~
Everything you can imagine is here on the Westbank. Lowes, 2 Walmarts, Target, Barnes and Noble, Ross, TJ Maxx, Dollar Stores galore. And there are tons of things I haven't even found yet. And of course then you can get into New Orleans in about 20 minutes.

Child Care/Schools~
There is the Belle Chasse Academy right here on NAS. There are also schools in town. I homeschool my children but I hear great things about the Academy.

Adult Schools~
I am really not sure if there is anything available on the Westbank but of course New Orleans has a lot available.

Fun Activities~
Ok well its New Orleans , lol. I really haven't experienced much in the short time we have been here but I hear its a lot of fun.

Additional Info~
It's really not as bad here as we had thought it would be. The housing is really nice. The humidity is killer though. But actually you get used to it quick. There is a lot of shopping which of course is a plus. I do miss the bright blue waters, and the crisp clean air.
