Weather~
Beautiful crisp fall weather. Winter is cold, snowy and long but some days are just incredible! Such beauty. Spring is short and mild temps. Summer is really nice warm days and comfortable cool nights.
Military facilities~
No exchange. Small commissary.
Medical~
Medical: Munson Hospital... Great reputation and Great doctors!
Housing~
No on base housing, rentals range from 600.00 and up. A lot of really nice places. Can be expensive since its a very touristy place. But you get here when we did, the prices dropped quickly.
Shopping~
Lots and Lots of shopping!!! Mall, Walmart, Outlets, thrift shops, Home Depot... You name they probably got it.
Adult Schools~
Michigan State College... Even has courses for flight!
Fun Activities~
small zoo, downtown traverse has theaters, dining, bars, clubs, shopping, and then your right on Lake Michigan so there is fishing, boating, water skiing, hiking, camping, etc. . Museums... Even a Mr. Rogers hands on place for kids and its free! There are a lot of ski resorts too and even a snow tubing resort.
Additional Info~
This place has got it all... beautiful parks and water areas. So much to do and see. you have to go to the Bear Dunes in Empire! Wow! So amazing! A quaint town with pretty sights and the beach is to die for!
