Weather~
hot, humid, muggy in the summer, winters around 40 and rainy.
Military/Medical facilities~
small clinic on base, all pediatrics are champused out.
Housing~
some military housing but only 75 government owned, most rent on the market. nice 3 bedrooms average around 600.
Shopping~
walmart, kmart, small mall. many local strip malls. Va Beach with plenty of shopping is an hour away.
Fun Activities~
we enjoy the Outer Banks which is only about an hour away where we love to parasail and visit the lighthouses.
Child Care/Schools~
schools are wonderful here. My youngest goes to a preschool ran by 2 wonderful Coast Guard spouses.
Adult Schools~
College of the Albemarle and Elizabeth City State University.
Additional Info~
Elizabeth City is a small farming community, we love it here, small town living at its best. The locals are very friendly and very basic people.
