Military facilities~
Here on base you have a small exchange.and there is a galley in the main barracks building. commissary and px along with medical (tricare coverage) and much more are located at fort monmouth.
Medical~
Medical: depending on coverage for dependants tricare goes to Fort monmouth and USFHP goes off base
Housing~
housing is nice. I have been stationed here 2x so i have lived in a 2 and a 3 bedroom they are not large but once you get you furniture in it is very homey. the housing pics you see for Sandy Hook is a 2 bedroom. Swimming pool
Shopping~
There is a mall 20 min. away. and more and more things are opening up. Target not to far either. And a strip mall here and there.
Fun Activities~
This place is a close community where mostly everyone knows knows everyone. Lots of fun get togethers for families (easter, christmas, v-day kids parties). Playgrounds. A family oriented community. everything on base is with in walking distance (with NO exageration). they are working hard on the community center to be able to do even more events there.
Additional Info~
It is beautiful, great housing, peaceful, very secure for children etc. and the people i have met the friends i have made i am glad i am here.
