The summer gets pretty hot (can reach 100) Plan on some kind of air conditioner. Winter will get very cold, and icy,sometimes into the negatives. Snows a lot too.
Military facilities~
West Point, almost an hour away
Medical~
Civilian doctors. Hard to come by trying to locate a TRICARE a doctor.
Housing~
NONE. Your on the economy
Shopping~
There is a small mall in Kingston, Super Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Petsmart. Kingston is a few min from Saugertise.
Child Care/Schools~
Don't need childcare, schools are ok
Adult Schools~
State and Community colleges near by
Fun Activities~
If your the outdoors type, lots to do, hiking, fishing, skiing.
Additional Info~
This place is not for me. It is completely country living, and I don't like the country. There is not much as far culture for toddlers, have to drive long distance to get to anything, limited on what there is to do with toddlers. I drive an hour to a decent hospital, Albany Med, although there are 2 hospitals in Kingston. We happen to live in an isolated area, maybe if we lived in the town of Saugerties, or closer to Kingston, I would like it, but I don't and can't wait to leave. Our son, however, loves living here. I must say, kids love it, and people are very friendly here.
