Weather~
Summers are awesome. Warm, rarely hot and lots of sunshine. Winters can be a bit long with lots and lots of rain. Some snow and ice. You just have to adjusts
Military facilities~
There is an exchange that carries some groceries and a variety of other things like appliances, furniture, clothes and household goods. Plus you can buy gas there and it is usually the cheapest in town.
Medical~
Tricare Prime Remote...So you choose your own doctors. There are many wonderful doctors in this area.
Housing~
Housing is pretty nice. The 2 bedrooms are really small but the 3 and 4 bedrooms are pretty roomy. There are several small playgrounds within housing too.
Shopping~
In town there is mainly just local shops other then Fred Meyer which is grocery and variety. There is a brand new Safeway that is really nice. Longview, WA is about 1 hour which has a Walmart and Target and Portland is about 70 miles and has several malls.
Adult Schools~
Clatsop Comm. College has some great educational programs for associates and bachelors degrees.
Fun Activities~
The beach is awesome in the summer for bombfires and other family activities. the Aquatic center is great for kids. There is plenty of outdoor activities like fishing and hiking. Seaside and Cannon Beach are great little tourist towns to visit also.
Additional Info~
A great place to be stationed if you enjoy the outdoors. You can adjust to the long winters and enjoy the wonderful summers. I would come back again
