:: Charleston, SC - Angelmatt
Station/Boat Location~
Group Charleston

Date there~
I have lived here two years and like it a lot!

Military facilities~
The base has a free movie theatre, its own post office, McDonald's, Navy Exchange, nice commissary, tons of parks, several schools, gas station, chapel, bowling alley, thrift shop (run by Navy Wives Club), arcade, etc.

Housing~
If you are stationed here, you will probably live at the Naval Weapons Station unless you buy a house. They have pretty good housing here, we got a three bedroom and we only had one child at the time. There are always houses available, I don't think there are waiting lists here.

Shopping~
There is an excellent shopping district, which is only a short 20 minute drive (due to traffic). There is a mall, Toys R Us, Old Navy, Michael's, Walmart, Best Buy, theaters, and restaurants.

Fun Activities~
The aquarium (the state's biggest attraction), Fort Sumter (where the civil war started), museums, old plantations, etc.

Additional Info~
There are also great support groups for moms. We have a Mom's Club, which is a support group for stay-at-home moms , and a La Leche Leage close by. There are lots of places to volunteer.
