Military facilities~
Fort Belvoir has a nice commissary, PX and is very large. There are 2 other bases close by shop. Being we're so close to DC it comes in handy with all the military
Medical~
I use the Ft. Belvoir hospital. Has health care there for spouses.
Housing~
None, you have to use your BAH. Stay in the Lorton area because it is cheaper. ? Fort Belvoir housing
Shopping~
There is a mall in Springfield, VA...if you want more it is only 15 minute drive into DC which has malls and lots of stores
Child Care/Schools~

Adult Schools~
There are a lot of colleges. Strayer University, Georgetown, and more
Fun Activities~
There is a lot to do. There is Old Town Alexandria which is a really nice area. It sits right on the Potomac. There is the theater in DC and a lot of stuff to do. Depends on what your into.
Additional Info~
TISCOM is home to the Coast Guard Honor Guard, which is generally younger people in the Coast Guard so you will not find too many spouses. Overall the area is nice and there are things to do, but it is expensive.
