Weather~
Summers are very hot and humid. Springs are cool. Winters are very cold and wet. Fall is breezy and comfortable.
Military facilities~
NAB has a commissary, exchange, MWR everything you need. Sector Hampton Roads is in Portsmouth with a exchange that sell the new uniforms which is very nice.
Medical~
Portsmouth Naval Hospital and Boone clinic there are more but those are the only two that dh and I used.
Housing~
Mostly Navy housing so first come first serve so we rented.
Shopping~
Great malls all over with every store you could possibly need/want.
Adult Schools~
Many local community college, Old Dominion University, Norfolk State University.
Fun Activities~
Busch Gardens is about 1 1/2 hours north in Williamsburg. Many local fairs and festivals all year round.

I really loved Virginia made a lot of great memories.
