Station/Boat Location~
NV4X4GAL gave great info on Kenosha! Just wanted to add to it a bit in the school section.

Date there~
1992-1996 DH was the corpsman at Great Lakes Naval Hospital (CG Liaison). His commute wasn't bad. The medical facility at Great Lakes was great. The Station and Ant team were great to adopt us. They had really good moral there... one big family!

Child Care/Schools~
My kids attended Jane Vernon Elem. (south part of Kenosha). It was by Tremper HS. It was a great school. Staff was great, great principal and teachers. There is a small swimming pool that the classes use as rewards (used primarily for therapy for physically disabled students). I believe all of the schools in Kenosha are good. Pleasant Prairie also has 2 good schools which are part of the Kenosha district (Tremper HS). There are also several parochial schools. I would say the Jr Highs are least desirable. Lincoln and Washington being the roughest. My children attended Presbytarian Child Care Center (also had latch key and transportation to several elem. schools). It was great. The kids could take spanish and sign classes there.

Additional Info~
The park system is great in Kenosha. Many baseball and soccer fields (which my husband helped to develop) in the Tremper area (Anderson Park). There is also a great outdoor pool complex (closed the week we moved there until the weekend we moved away!!).

Kenosha has the best fireworks displays ever on the 4th of July right behind the station!!
