Varies: cold cold in winter or mildly cold~Summers are mild upper 50's or mid 60s but it is hot to you!!

NONE, closest is Anchorage which is a 4 hour drive.
Medical~
Use Regular docs..I love Kachemack Bay Medical Center or Homer Clinic is available too.
Housing~
There are 5 buildings: 4 are used for families with kids which are 3 bedrooms and the 2 bedrooms are usually used for married couples w/o children! There is a list to get OUT of housing!!
Shopping~
2 Bulk food stores 1 grocery store Ulmers(they are trying to get things more but has craft stuff, hunting fishing stuff ..it is a very mini mini wally world but a lil expensive) Fred Meyers is 1 1/2 hours away in Soldotna..They Have a KMart too but I heard is closing.
Fun Activities~
Hunting Fishing, Snow mobiling 4-wheeling Clam digging Hiking The schools always have a pamphlet they send out with things to do.
Child Care/Schools~
Child Care is a lil expensive but there is Children's house that I know of: As for Pre-school, we sent our son to Faith Lutheran Pre-school..it is affordable and he loved it!!
Adult Schools~
There is a college here but there isn't a whole lot offered in my opinion..you can do your basics here..I do know that they offer CNA courses and I heard they are starting up an RN program too.

Homer is a quaint drinking town with a fishing problem or so the bumper stickers around town say. lol There are things to do here..just gotta get creative as it does get dark real early in the winters and stays light real late in the summers(loved that). Housing has a bon fire pit and that was the hang out in the summer as well as the winters...I do recommend Rain and snow gear a must..you just never know!!
