Medical~Nearby Navy hospital (HMO style) with quite a few Doctors in town for Tricare referrals and the hospital/emergency room is not even a mile away from housing
Housing~there are two different housing sites. Peary Courtis newer and has only two bedrooms, Sigsbee is much older and has 3 and 4 bdrm duplexes and townhouses. Some have water access and docks. Beware of mold from air conditioning
Shopping~Not much! There is Kmart and Sears. Period. Well, there are the trendy boutiques downtown that are cool but super expensive. most folks make the 3 hour drive to Miami for a "Walmart-fix" or just shop online.

Fun Activities~swimming, snorkelling, all of the water sports, Sorry to say with children-not much, but growns ups can go do the"Duval Crawl" which is bar hopping the 227 bars on the 2 mile stretch of Duval street. Yes it's a total party town.
