Shopping~
Great shopping everywhere! Strip malls, and outlet malls...and a great shopping mall in Fairview Heights (St. Clair Sq. Mall).
There is a Walmart and Sam's club in O'fallon, and Target in Belleville (and other walmart/targets in the area). Scott has a great commissary, and exchange.

Fun Activities~
Scott AFB has a bowling alley and theater. There are many restaurants in the area, and of course shopping. It's a short trip into St. Louis, where there is alot of fun stuff. For families, the zoo and the museums in STL are FREE, and there are many fairs, etc. throughout the year.

Additional Info~
If you are looking to talk to someone about tricare, getting IDs...or anything of that nature, go to Scott AFB. You can get a sticker for the AFB by asking a guard at the gate where to find the ID office.
