Ride the ferry, Moody Gardens, Galveston Island State Park, (in Houston) Houston Zoo, Children's Museum, Brazos Bend State Park (2 hrs away(see alligators up close and personal), George Ranch (Texas living history museum), Galleria Mall w/ ice skating etc. etc. etc.
Additional Info~
Don't walk outside in the grass without shoes. They have FIRE ANTS! Also giant mosquitoes and cockroaches (known as palmetto bugs so it doesn't gross you out so much). This is a really nice place to be in the winter.
