you get the winter stuff and the tropical stuff!!
Military facilities~
none very close....Ft Eustis is about 45 mins away...portsmouth naval hosp is about 2 hrs away.
Medical~
i don't know if they now qualify for prime remote...we used standard.
Housing~
there are about 7 CG owned homes in the community there that are used for housing...or rentals and real estate....all within BAH
Shopping~
the largest wal mart on the east coast is about 30 minutes from Mathews, VA....in Gloucester. some non-chain stores in the little towns.
Adult Schools~
none very close....Rappahannock community college is about 45 mins away...and Newport News is about the same distance...then there is Richmond about an hour north with UVA and others.
Fun Activities~
we saw a lot of movies while here....VA beach is not too terribly far away...then there are a few public access beaches and campgrounds in mathews, and the station has a morale boat you can sign up to use.
Additional Info~
While there this was the most miserable tour we had...now that i am gone...i miss so many things about this small community, especially the schools and locals.
