:: Seattle, WA - EMChicksWife
Station/Boat Location~
NESU Seattle

Date there~
October 2008 till October 2012

Weather~
Sucky sucky sucky, If it's not the gloomy weather it's the snow and wind that get to you. Last summer was particularly horrible with 110 days in the summer.

Military facilities~
I have the pleasure to live right next to Naval Base Bremerton. But if you live on the Seattle side there is the CG base, Ft. Lewis, McCord, etc, etc, etc.

Medical~
Naval Hosptial Bremerton as well as civilian doctors.

Housing~
We chose not to live in Seattle and opted for the cheaper way of living. We live in Bremerton. We love it here, but the commute does have it's downfall. My husband has to take a ferry at 4:50 in the morning to get to work by 6:30 and most days doesn't get home till around 4pm.

Shopping~
We have NHB and also Bangor base (which a small CG port on it) not to mention Kitsap mall is only 15 mins away.

Child Care/Schools~
I have yet to use any Child Care programs and know nothing of the school systems.

Adult Schools~
Olympic College is right up the road, with a bunch of other CC's along the way. Or you can take the commute to Seattle and enjoy UW, Art Institute, and many other great colleges.

Fun Activities~
You can travel to Mt. Rainier or Mt. St. Helens, take a drive to Canada or visit one of the many Zoo's, parks, or Musuems.

Additional Info~
If you don't like gloom and rain, probably not the best place to be. I've enjoyed it so far, but I'm hoping for something a little sunnier.
